Work in Canada & Elsewhere

The work in Canada has been discussed in our last several meetings, and a group of carpenters is already set to start the training process this week in Houston, but this is only the beginning. If you are interested in expanding your skill set and taking advantage of the opportunities for Union Carpenters in Canada, there will be ample opportunity to do so. Contact Kenneth Fontenot at Local 551 in Houston. He’s our regional contact for work in Canada. Also, check out the special section at the International’s website about the project.

Also, there are several tradeshow opportunities available now and in the near future, as well as some work at the South Texas Project. Again, this work is coordinated through the Houston local, so give them a call.

MSNBC host defends Unions

Krystal Ball of MSNBC’s “The Cycle” went on the air to defend Unions in the wake of the Bureau of Labor Statistics new report.

The America we know and love is the America we know and love because of unions. They fought for better wages, equal pay, equal rights, worker safety, and even the weekend. They continue to fight today for the vision of America articulated so eloquently by the President. – Krystal Ball, MSNBC
